Fundraising Coordinator (Community)

£23,356 – £25,482 per annum, 37.5 hours per week

Applications are invited for the post of Fundraising Coordinator (Community) who will be directly reporting to the Fundraising Manager.

Main duties and responsibilities will involve:

  1. Contribute to the hospice Fundraising Strategy by proactively researching, identifying and securing ongoing support from the local community.
  2. Be responsible for sourcing and generating income from external fundraising activities and managing and encouraging such activities. 
  3. Support individuals and groups who contact the hospice wishing to raise funds. Maximize their potential and build ongoing relationships and support for the hospice.
  4. Maintain and develop relationships with existing Community Supporters and increase income from these sources and build relationships with new individuals, community groups and organisations.
  5. Plan, organize and deliver cost effective community fundraising appeals and activities.

The successful candidate will be required to have the following:

  1. Educated to degree level or equivalent and/or working towards recognised fundraising qualification e.g. Institute of Fundraising Certificate in Fundraising.
  2. Experience of working in a fundraising, sales or goal driven environment
  3. Experience of working towards and achieving financial targets and monitoring financial budgets.
  4. Excellent planning and organising skills, including the ability to manage or support several activities simultaneously
  5. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to engage and build relationships with individuals and groups at all levels.
  6. Willingness to present and speak to large groups of people
  7. Passion for working in the charity sector
  8. Able to work full time hours and frequent unsocial hours to meet the needs of the business. 
  9. Must be able to undertake some manual handling operations
  10. Car driver with the use of own vehicle

The above post enables the holder to have access to persons in receipt of health services in the course of his/her normal duties and as Dove House Hospice meets the requirements in respect of exempted questions under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, the successful candidate will be asked to apply for an Standard check through the Disclosure & Barring Service. This will contain details of all convictions on the Police National Computer including cautions, reprimands or final warnings which would not be filtered in line with current guidance. A criminal record will not necessarily be a bar to obtaining employment.
