Harlington Hospice, the leading hospice organisation in the London Borough of Hillingdon, is pleased to announce its successful bid in securing the contract for the provision of short breaks for adult carers with the London Boroughs of Hounslow and Ealing.

The service, created in partnership with Ealing and Hounslow CVS and Carers Trust Hillingdon, was rolled out in both boroughs in late January and provides carers with a holistic wellbeing offering that focuses on their personal care, through a variety of means.

This includes providing replacement carers in a person’s home, taking them to a social activity, signposting to mental health services, support groups, education and training resources, as well as regular assessments to evaluate individual support needs and access to clinical staff.

Following a competitive tender evaluation process, Harlington Hospice emerged as the preferred choice on both quality and price, showcasing the charity’s commitment to delivering exceptional services.

Harlington Care, which is a CQC registered service offered by the organisation, provides domiciliary care services and has a proven track record, with over 4 years of experience in providing carers short breaks in Hillingdon and Hounslow. This marks a significant milestone in the organisation’s dedication to enhancing the wellbeing of the community. The decision comes after careful consideration and evaluation of the hospice’s proposal, which demonstrated innovation, quality, and a clear understanding of the diverse needs of the service users.

This success reinforces Harlington Hospice’s standing as a leader in delivering high quality services tailored to meet the specific needs of the community.

Steve Curry, CEO at Harlington Hospice shared, “We are grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the wellbeing of the residents of the London Boroughs of Hounslow and Ealing and we look forward to a fruitful partnership. We are committed to providing outstanding short breaks for adult carers in the region.”

Tanya Willis, Registered Manager of Harlington Care said, “Our experience in delivering has enabled us to refine the assessment process to ensure we gain the information on the needs of both the carer and cared for, focusing on what they both need from the short breaks.”
