St Gemma’s is the largest hospice in Yorkshire and one of the largest in the UK. The Hospice provides expert palliative and end of life care, in a high quality environment, for thousands of local people each year. It’s a prominent and respected charity at the heart of the local community with a large range of specialist services to care for patients and support their families and friends.

Following a strategic staffing review, St Gemma’s is seeking a Head of Individual Giving. This new and exciting post will involve leading the development and implementation of plans to increase individual giving to the Hospice in line with our Income Generation Strategy.

As a Head of Department you will continually seek improvement, be passionate about the provision of high quality care and committed to the values of the Hospice, with the ability to inspire, motivate and empower those around you. You will collaborate with other senior members of the Income Generation team as well as colleagues across the Hospice. You will have personal responsibility for achieving a demanding income budget from high net worth individuals as well as supporting your direct reports to achieve their income targets.

In this challenging and rewarding role you will work closely with the Director of Income Generation to help shape the future of St Gemma’s Hospice. You will be pivotal in developing and maintaining strong and effective links with the local community and may represent St Gemma’s Hospice at a local, regional and national level.

You will have a proven track record in achieving demanding budgets and managing a small team. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be dynamic and innovative in your approach to raising funds.
