Staff from the St Elizabeth East Coast Hospice and East Coast Community Healthcare are celebrating, after the healthcare partnership was shortlisted in the Palliative Care category at the Great British Care Awards, in the East of England.
The awards recognise success across the care sector, with the regional winners set to be revealed at a special event in Milton Keynes on 1st November.
East Coast Community Healthcare’s Executive Director of Operations, Adele Madin, said: “Our partnership with St Elizabeth East Coast Hospice has allowed us to extend crucial support to so many in need across our communities.
“Being shortlisted is a great honour, and we look forward to continuing to innovate and provide the best possible care for patients and their loved ones.”
Since April 2019, St Elizabeth East Coast Hospice and East Coast Community Healthcare have worked in partnership to provide free specialist palliative care to the communities of Great Yarmouth and Waveney.
During this time, over 5,000 patients living with progressive or life-limiting illness have received support from the partnership, at a time when care matters most.
Hanna McDowell, Head of Therapy & Community Care Units, said: “We are incredibly proud to be nominated for this award alongside East Coast Community Healthcare.
“This is great recognition for the hard work of everyone in the partnership, as we continue collaborating to develop our palliative and end-of-life services to support patients and their families throughout Great Yarmouth and Waveney.”
