This year local hospices are raising awareness of how they reach out to and support the many different communities they serve. Promoting the messages that hospice care is not just a building, hospice care is not just for people with cancer and hospice care is for everyone, whatever faith, social group or ethnicity, the week’s activities focus on community engagement.
Hospice Care Week runs from 8 – 14 October, well over 100 local hospices have got involved, all helping to raise awareness of Hospice Care. The theme of ‘be surprised’ continues from its success in 2011.
