Actress and model Lady Shakira Caine and actress Patricia Hodge OBE will be among the celebrity guests attending Hospice UK’s Christmas carol service this year to raise vital funds for hospice care.
The event will take place at the stunning St Luke’s Church in Chelsea on Monday 17 December where guests can enjoy an evening of traditional carols, music and celebrity readings, followed by mulled wine and mince pies.
Author John Foley MBE, actress Sophie Ward and Hospice UK’s new Chair ITV Political Editor Robert Peston will also attend the event and there will be performances by tenor David Webb and soprano Olivia Grace Piper.
Last year hundreds of people went to Hospice UK’s carol service and heard readings by Richenda Carey, Matt Johnson, Lord Julian Fellowes and Dame Sian Phillips.
As the national charity for hospice and palliative care, Hospice UK champions and supports the work of more than 200 member organisations which provide hospice care to more than 200,000 people across the UK each year.
This support helps hospices to deliver the highest quality care for people with life-limiting conditions and also support their families.
Funds raised from the carol service will go towards Hospice UK’s national work for hospices. This will ensure they continue to provide vital services in future and so that everyone who needs hospice care gets this crucial support.
Catherine Bosworth, Director of Income Generation at Hospice UK, said:
“Our first carol service last year was a heart-warming and elegant affair and a wonderful opportunity for the hundreds of guests who attended to embrace the Christmas spirit.
“We hope lots of people will come along for some festive fun at our event this year to help raise vital funds to support people with life-limiting conditions and their families.”
The carol service will take place at St Luke’s Church, Chelsea, London on Monday 17 December 2018 at 7.30pm.
