Join Trinity Hospice at the LGBT Pride Parade in London on 27 June

Categories: Community Engagement.

Pride in London one of the world’s biggest LGBT+ celebrations –  last year 30,000 people joined the parade.

Last year also saw Trinity’s debut appearance at Pride – we were the first hospice to ever march in the parade – and what a wonderful reception we received!

So naturally we are thrilled to return again this year and be part of the Pride in London Parade on Saturday 27 June 2015. Trinity’s presence emphasises our commitment to the LGBT community and our pledge to always be there for everyone who needs us.

Pride is all about celebrating our diversity as well as having fun, and we are looking forward to being joined by our doctors, nurses, support staff members and many from our LGBT Friends group.

We are also extending this invitation to staff from other hospices who would like to join the celebrations and be part of the parade.

As well as having fun, there is also a serious message. We want to remind everyone that hospices are not only here for the last weeks of life, but also to encourage healthy living and take preventative actions, such as screening.

We want to remind people that hospices are here for everyone, whatever their background or community.  Our vision is a world in which all people have access to skilled, compassionate end of life care at the time that is right for them and in the place of their choice.

All organisations march at Pride for a variety of reasons and our patients are at the forefront of all we do, however we wouldn’t be able to support our diverse patient group without having a workforce that mirrors them.

We are proud that many of our staff are from LBGT communities, and we want to continue to encourage recruitment from within the community. We understand that our workforce needs to mirror the diversity of our patients.
