A free festival that lifts the lid on everything death & dying, through conversations, interactive events, workshops, art and craft sessions, live music, poetry and performance from around the world.
Death is of course something that will affect every one of us but can still be extremely challenging to discuss. This festival will be an opportunity for people to find out as much or as little as they like, allowing people to dip in and out as they feel comfortable.
We hope these events will start to encourage an acceptance of the inevitability of loss and impermanence, and we want to take some of the fear of death away so people can ask questions and talk openly and honestly about their experiences.
Featuring an international line-up of end of life and palliative carers, funeral directors, grief supporters, artists, musicians, writers, doctors, film makers, dancers, pet bereavement counsellors, coffin weavers, and everything in between.
Including palliative care pioneer and author Kathryn Mannix; podcaster and children’s books writer Mark Lemon; Jane Harris, psychotherapist with a personal focus on parental bereavement and co-producer/director of the powerful documentaries ‘Beyond The Mask’ and ‘A Love That Never Dies’ for The Good Grief Project; Dr Susan Srigley’s Death Ambassadors – Nipissing University, Canada; The Pet Loss Lady (recently featured in the Daily Mail); British Empire Medal recipient Paul Jameson founder of Aura; Ugly Bucket Theatre; Death Cafe co-founders; Time Out London’s Rising Talent and Critics’ Circle National Dance Awards UK nominee, Ash Mukherjee hailed as the Best Indian dancer in Great Britain today by Dance Europe.
