Local charity encourages people to Write a Will this May

Categories: Fundraising.

Willen Hospice are encouraging local people to take advantage of their Make a Will Month offer this May.

Throughout the month, participating solicitors will be waiving their fees for writing or updating a Will in lieu of a suggested donation to the Hospice. This will usually be half the price of what a solicitor would normally charge.

Appointments are limited and allocated on a first-come first-served basis. Local people can enquire about an appointment by completing the form on the Willen Hospice website under the ‘Make a Will Month’ page, emailing legacies@willen-hospice.org.uk or calling 01908 303068 (Mon – Fri, 9am – 5pm).

Fiz Johnson Willen Hospice Legacy Officer said “Writing your Will is a task that we often put-off, but it’s one of the most important things we can do. A Will gives you and your loved ones peace of mind that your wishes will be carried out, and they also offer the opportunity to pledge a gift in your Will to a charity like Willen Hospice, leaving a Legacy of Love that will help others way beyond your lifetime.

“I am extremely grateful to the participating solicitors who are supporting us with Make a Will Month.”

About Willen Hospice

Willen Hospice provides complex and individual care to all adults affected by life-limiting illness in Milton Keynes and surrounding areas.

Our care is assuring, equally accessible and advanced. It is free to the patient and provided by a highly skilled team of professionals in our In-patient Unit or in people’s homes through our community care team.

We receive less than a quarter of our funding from the NHS and need the support of the local community to provide us with financial stability to ensure that we are always there to care.
