Map of Medicine updated to include LACDP’s new Priorities for Care

Categories: Care.

The Map of Medicine is a collection of evidence-based, practice-informed care maps which are used by doctors to determine the best treatment options for their patients.

According to their website: “Map of Medicine’s End of life care pathway is the ideal starting point for clinical commissioning groups to locally customise in line with services available in their local area. The pathway has been designed for GPs to access at the point of care, and is a comprehensive overview of best practice care.”

Map of Medicine regularly updates its care pathways to include new, quality-assessed evidence, and practice-based knowledge from expert clinicians to ensure patient experience is improved.

This latest update follows guidance from the Leadership Alliance for the Care of Dying People (LACDP), who earlier this year published a new approach to caring for dying people, based on the needs and wishes of the person and those close to them, called Priorities for Care.
