National Hospice Support Manager – Fundraising and Communications (maternity cover)

Salary: £39,000 per annum + benefits 

Contract: Fixed term contract to cover up to year’s maternity leave

About the role

This is an exciting and varied role. Its purpose is to develop and deliver activities and products to increase the skills and effectiveness of Hospice UK members in the areas of fundraising, income generation and communications.

This will involve working with hospice fundraising and communications staff from across the UK to strengthen their engagement, develop activities and products (including training events and publications) that are useful and relevant to them, create opportunities for peer support and promote our membership benefits. The post holder will also represent Hospice UK externally. This role will be responsible for planning and project managing key events – Hospice Care Week (October 2015) and Hospice UK’s annual conference for hospice retail staff. In addition, the post holder will take responsibility for several existing support programmes and oversee the production of a number of resources for hospice staff.

About you

You will be highly self motivated, with significant experience of fundraising in the charity/not-for-profit sector. You will have a strong understanding of the different fundraising income streams, and experience of successfully using a range of different fundraising methods. You will have strong organisational skills and be an experienced project manager who can lead the organisation of events.

You must also have excellent interpersonal and communications skills and be able to work constructively with a wide range of people. You should have experience of working with a membership or with multiple stakeholders. Finally, we are seeking a candidate with an interest in and empathy with the values of the hospice movement.

This is a contract to cover up to a year’s maternity leave and we are hoping for a start date in mid-June.
