New online forum set to support staff caring for people with MND

Categories: Care.

The forum provides a secure area for professionals from all disciplines to share expert information, experiences and to support each other with the challenges of working with people affected by MND.

The MNDA will also use the forum to share information and make professionals aware of education opportunities.

There has already been some some content added to the site to kick-start the forum discussions, but all users can add new threads and posts under relevant topics.

Interestingly, a thread has been started  called ‘End of Life’, which aims to discuss the “palliative and end of life care and advice on how to improve the care of people with MND at the later stages of MND.”

Speaking about the new online tool, Jennifer Bedford, Partnership Development Manager at the Motor Neurone Disease Association said:  “Your contribution is invaluable, as it will help members provide the best possible support to people living with and affected by MND.”

The forum has been funded by the Department of Health through a grant from the Health and Social Care Volunteering Fund and it is a closed  forum, meaning  you will need to register before being able to post anything .

You can find the forum online at: http://proforum.mndassociation.org
