Conference chairman George Bell commented about the importance of adapting to change as he closed the two-day conference in Milton Keynes on Friday (2 November).
“Society is becoming ever more sophisticated. The reality is we are going to live in dynamically, rapidly changing times,” George said.
“You’ve got to move forward. Don’t look at the obstacles – look at the work arounds. Don’t look at the problems, look at the solutions.”
The association unveiled its new website to members attending the conference. It features a new logo, which uses the acronym of NAHH in the symbol of a house, and the site has a new clean look and simpler navigation.
Website designer Paul Currah said usability and accessibility are at the core of the design. He said it aims to provide users with the information they need, straight away.
“It is more collaborative, more modern and simpler to use,” Paul said.
“It aims to make all the resources really easy to get hold of and to get people to want to use it.”
The site features information about hospice care generally, as well as about hospice at home and a members section where members will be able to communicate via a forum as well as access the information they need.
The new website will be live this week.
The conference, with the theme ‘Positive partnerships, better outcomes’, also saw the launch of the Hospice at home standards, which were developed in collaboration with members, and the results of a joint survey carried out with Help the Hospices and the association. Keep visiting ehospice to read more about hospice at home and the outcomes of this year’s conference in the coming days.
