LONDON, 7th January 2025: King Charles III has bestowed a knighthood upon Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice’s Honorary Life Chair, Jeremy Isaacs CBE, in the New Year Honours List 2025 for services to Philanthropy and to Children’s Hospice Care.

In 2015, he was appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in HM The Queen’s Birthday Honours for his services to the NHS.

Sir Jeremy Isaacs CBE has been instrumental in the story of Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice since he joined the charity in 2009 as Trustee, going on to serve as Chair of Trustees from 2017 until stepping down in April 2022.

He led the £13.5m campaign to ‘Build The Ark’ appealing to the construction industry, the health sector, and a whole series of private and third sector organisations to ask for their help to build a home for Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice. He was also key in scoping out and securing the plot in Barnet where The Ark would finally be opened by London Mayor, Sadiq Khan in September 2019.

Through his leadership, he has helped transform Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice from a small, local charity into an admired, role-model organisation in children’s palliative care.

Sir Jeremy Isaacs CBE is also the founder of JRJ Group and participates in numerous philanthropic activities including as Trustee of The J Isaacs Charitable Trust.

He has also held positions of non-executive director of Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust 2003-16, Member of British Olympic Advisory Board 2007-12 and member of the Bridges Development Fund Advisory Board, 2008-2018.

His introductions to his vast network of individual philanthropists and corporate supporters have been vital to Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice’s growth and since 2009, the charity’s annual income has grown from £600,000 to £7.6 million. His guidance and support has empowered Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice to be ambitious about the difference they make to the lives of the children and families who need them.

CEO of Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice, Sophie Andrews OBE, said: ‘Sir Jeremy Isaacs CBE has had a huge impact on the growth and development of Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice. His business acumen, determination and guidance have been vital to our success, and we owe him a tremendous debt of gratitude.’

Sir Jeremy Isaacs CBE said: ‘I am honoured to have been awarded this accolade in the New Year Honours List 2025 for services to Philanthropy and to Children’s Hospice Care. Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice has always been very close to my heart and I’m proud to have been involved in their expansion into a multi award-winning charity.’
