Salary: Band 6 £30,939 – £40,809 (pro rata) per annum inclusive
Hours of work: 22.5 per week (ability to work on a Wednesday is a necessity)
We are seeking to appoint a qualified, experienced person to work part time to set up and coordinate a bereavement support service in Haringey. The service will be delivered in partnership with North London Hospice Community Specialist Palliative Care Team in Haringey and will provide bereavement support to Haringey residents who are relatives of patients who have died under the care of Haringey Community team or a hospice team in another borough.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, confident individual with a counselling qualification who has been able to demonstrate substantial experience of working with bereaved people and their families, and who ideally has experience of setting up a community service, coordinating a service, and working with volunteers.
You will need to demonstrate experience of supporting people from a wide range of ethnic and cultural backgrounds, and of meeting the needs of hard-to-reach groups.
You will need to have proven communication, organisational and leadership skills and ability to work independently as well as within professional guidelines. In return, we will offer you a stimulating job with regular supervision and opportunities for professional development.
