London, 16th June 2025 – Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice has invited Professor Lorna Fraser MBCHB, MRCPCH, MSC, MMEDSCI, PHD (Professor Lorna Fraser) to be their newest trustee. Professor Lorna Fraser is a Professor of Palliative Care and Child Health at King’s College London and an NIHR Research Professor.
Her background is in clinical paediatrics and her research focuses on children and young people.
She leads a team at the Cicely Saunders Institute undertaking research on the care and support of children and young people with life-limiting conditions, their families and the workforce that care for them.
She has a portfolio of funding from the major funders, including three NIHR fellowships. Her main area of expertise is the use of routine data to influence policy and address healthcare inequalities. Her work has influenced national service specifications, children’s palliative care funding, and vaccine prioritisation for children with COVID.
Working closely with children and their parents are central to her research and her team were awarded the Royal College of Paediatric and Child Health Patient and Public Involvement prize in 2022.
Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice provides palliative care for over 350 children who have life-limiting or life-threatening conditions and their families.
They believe that every baby, child and young person who is seriously unwell, and their loved ones, should have access to expert and compassionate palliative care from the point of diagnosis. They provide exceptional care, fun activities and days out, offering families the chance to do things they never thought possible. They help those they support enjoy life as parents and children, not carers and patients so they can make the most of every day.

I look forward to working closely with statutory services within The Ark’s catchment areas to ensure that every baby, child and young person,with a life-limiting or life-threatening condition and their family have equitable and timely access to high quality palliative care where and when they need it.’
