Prospect Hospice’s Light Up a Life Remembrance Service: A Time to Reflect and Remember

Categories: Care and Fundraising.
Prospect Hospice warmly invites the community to its annual Light Up a Life remembrance service, a special event to honour and celebrate the lives of loved ones who are no longer with us.

Last December, Pippa’s husband, Tom, passed away after a brave battle with bowel cancer. Reflecting on the care provided by Prospect Hospice during Tom’s final weeks, Pippa said,

“The team from Prospect Hospice were like a light in the darkness. Tom wanted us to spend our last precious moments together as a family, not as carers, and thanks to Prospect Hospice, we could. They made sure Tom was comfortable, allowing him to stay at home with us, surrounded by love. We had golden moments together – memories I will cherish forever.”
This year’s Light Up a Life service will take place on Sunday 8 December at 4pm at the hospice in Wroughton. It offers a heartfelt space for families like Pippa’s to come together, share memories, and shine a light in remembrance of loved ones.
The service will feature beautiful readings, musical performances, a candle-lighting ceremony, and the chance to add personal dedications to our remembrance tree. Attendees will also have the opportunity to reflect and connect with others over refreshments.
As Christmas approaches, the absence of a loved one can feel even more profound, making this service an important way to remember and reflect. By dedicating a light, you can support families facing similar journeys this festive season.
