Punyapriya Singh named Fundraiser of the Year at National Fundraising Awards

Categories: Leadership and People & Places.

Monday 9th June 2025 saw Noah’s Ark’s Children’s Hospice’s Senior Head of Supporter Engagement, Punyapriya Singh, named ‘Fundraiser of the Year’ at The Chartered Institute of Fundraising’s National Fundraising Awards, held at a lavish ceremony at the QE11 Centre.

Punyapriya, from Hatfield, fought off stiff competition from some very impressive entrants but the win was extremely well deserved.

Punyapriya joined Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice in late 2006 and is the hospice’s longest serving member of staff. She has been with the charity since they first started offering Hospice-at-Home and community-based services, before the building of The Ark in 2019.

Punyapriya has been a consistent presence and impactful leader throughout the hospice’s journey from a small, community-based service to a multi-million-pound operation and one of the leaders in children’s palliative care.

Priya has been instrumental to not only fundraising success but in enabling the charity to reach more babies, children and young people by driving our brand awareness.

Initially Priya was the only fundraiser in the charity, but her vision has seen her department grow to a team of eight. Priya has developed multiple fundraising products and spearheaded growth into community groups and over the five years that Priya has been running the charity’s annual, match-funded campaign, it has brought in £5.5m and has been vital in terms of Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice’s brand reach and recognition.

Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice provides palliative care for over 350 children who have life-limiting or life-threatening conditions and their families. They believe that every baby, child and young person who is seriously unwell, and their loved ones, should have access to expert and compassionate palliative care from the point of diagnosis. They provide exceptional care, fun activities and days out, offering families the chance to do things they never thought possible. They help those they support enjoy life as parents and children, not carers and patients so they can make the most of every day.

The Chartered Institute of Fundraising’s National Fundraising Awards is an industry badge of excellence. The Awards celebrate and recognise the achievements of remarkable fundraisers who, in extraordinary ways, have made the world a better place.

Hosted by the Chartered Institute of Fundraising, the Awards are a badge of excellence and are the only one of their kind that recognise fundraising best practice in the charity sector. They provide a platform to showcase the hard work, dedication, passion and innovation of fundraisers.

The judges said:

‘The longevity, dedication and commitment of this year’s winner really shone through for us and were exemplary. She’s clearly had a lifetime of impact at the charity through responding to challenges as well as maximising long term growth in fundraising over a long period of time. She’s used insight to benchmark and therefore improve performance and clearly cares deeply about colleagues and volunteers.  An inspirational fundraiser.’

Sophie Andrews OBE, Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice’s CEO, said:

‘I couldn’t be prouder of Priya. She is a stalwart of the charity and has shaped who we are, both in terms of fundraising products and culture. Priya is a modest and dedicated fundraising professional, and this award couldn’t have been more well deserved. We are extremely lucky to have her!’

Punyapriya Singh, Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice’s Senior Head of Supporter Engagement, said:

‘I’m truly humbled to receive this award. Over the last 17 years, I have had the privilege of working for Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice, who have truly created an environment that has enabled me and many others to make meaningful connections and be our authentic selves.

This achievement is not just mine, it’s a reflection of the hard work, dedication, and generosity of the entire team at Noah’s ark Children’s Hospice, our amazing volunteers, and, of course, our incredible supporters.’
