The ever-popular Heart of Kent Hospice Golf Cup returned on Thursday 9 July 2026 with sunshine, smiles and serious fundraising power, as 28 business teams took to the stunning Chart Hills Golf Club for a day of golf in support of local hospice care.
With temperatures soaring into the 30s, 112 golfers braved tropical conditions for a shotgun-start tournament packed with friendly competition, on-course challenges, a summer BBQ, prize giving, raffle and charity auction.
The day broke records from the first tee to the final bid. It was the largest number of teams ever welcomed onto the course for the hospice’s Golf Cup, and the generosity shown throughout the event helped raise a staggering £41,690.
One of the most powerful moments came at the close of the auction, when guests were invited to fund the first 24 hours of care. Many people in the room had personal connections to the hospice through loved ones, and their response was immediate and moving, raising an incredible £3,600 in that moment alone.
Every pound raised will help Heart of Kent Hospice continue providing specialist, compassionate care for people living with a terminal illness, as well as vital support for their families and carers across the local community.
David Dadswell, Corporate Fundraising Manager, said: “What a day. The heat was on, the competition was fierce, and the generosity was simply incredible. To see so many local businesses come together with such energy and heart means the world to us. They are a fabulous bunch of people. This event was fun, memorable and record-breaking, but most importantly, it will make a real difference to the patients and families who rely on our care.”
Heart of Kent Hospice is already looking ahead to welcoming supporters back for another day where every swing, putt and drive helps make a difference.

Heart of Kent Hospice has provided free, compassionate, end-of-life care to people living with a terminal illness and their loved ones in Maidstone, Aylesford, Tonbridge and Malling and the surrounding areas for the past 35 years.

Last year we cared for over 2,000 patients and their families in their own homes or at our Aylesford-based hospice. Our charity needs to raise £7.6 million to deliver all the hospice’s services, and we depend heavily on our loyal community of supporters, whose generous donations and fundraising activities raise money for us every year.
