More than £7,000 has been raised for St Elizabeth East Coast Hospice thanks to the charity’s Santa Dash 2023.
Held on Sunday 10th December along Gorleston promenade, the Santa Dash saw over 245 St Elizabeth East Coast Hospice supporters don Santa outfits and Christmas themed fancy dress as they completed a sponsored 2k Santa Fun Run or 5k run along Gorleston cliff top and promenade.
All funds raised will go towards St Elizabeth East Coast Hospice which, in partnership with East Coast Community Healthcare, has cared for more than 4,475 patients and their families in Great Yarmouth and Waveney since launching in April 2019.
James Fox-Golding, Events and Challenges Manager at St Elizabeth East Cost Hospice, said: “What a day full of festive fun! A huge thank you to everyone who supported our Santa Dash. From the volunteers and runners through to all the spectators who cheered everyone on, you were all fantastic.
“We are so pleased to raise this brilliant amount for our services in Great Yarmouth and Waveney, which provide vital care to patients and families during difficult times in their lives.”
The results of the 5k timed race saw Daniel Harrison finish as the fastest male with a time of 17 minutes and 33 seconds, while Marianne Armstrong finished as the fastest female in an impressive time of 23 minutes and 19 seconds.
Marianne said: “It was a tough race with the one slope and strong winds along the promenade, but it was a nice course.
“I am really pleased with my time. I am even more chuffed to be the fastest lady in today’s race!”
