Senior Press Officer

Categories: Education.

Hours: Full Time 37.5 hours
Salary: c. £28-32k p.a.

Princess Alice Hospice in Esher is a special place to work. It is the heart of a huge network delivering free care and support to a population of more than a million people across Surrey, south west London and Middlesex. Last year we cared for almost 3,000 patients and our Princess Alice Nurses made more than 10,000 home visits. At any one time, we care for more than 800 patients in the community.

It’s a great story – and we’d like your help to tell more people about it.

We are looking for a Senior Press Officer – ideally with charity PR experience – to be a key member of our “small, but perfectly formed” Communications Department.

You will be responsible for raising the charity’s profile through proactive media relations – delivering integrated media campaigns to maximise public awareness and to support income generation. You will have a solid understanding of how the media operates and, ideally, have a good mix of local, consumer and online media contacts. You will build relationships with key journalists and will closely monitor the news agenda to create opportunities in our target media. A natural communicator, you will have managed cross-organisational initiatives providing communications advice and support to fundraising and other colleagues to drive the projects forward.

This exciting new role would suit someone with a good track record who is looking for the next challenge in their already successful career. So, if you are a self-starter who is keen to get stuck in – with the desire to help a wonderful local cause – we would love to hear from you.

For an informal discussion about the post, please contact Stuart Gendall, Head of Communications on 01372 461866.

Closing date: 28 October 2014 Interview date: 5 November 2014
