St Gemma’s Hospice, Leeds provides specialist medical and nursing care for people with life threatening illnesses. Our services are provided in our In-Patient Unit, our Day Hospice and in people’s homes. The Hospice provides emotional, psychological and spiritual support to patients, families and carers as well as bereavement support for adults and children. The Hospice is also a centre for education and research in palliative care. 

We are looking for an experienced Social Worker to lead and manage the bereavement services for adults and children within the Hospice. You will ensure the provision of high quality, relevant pre- and post-bereavement services to families and patients. You will support the Head of Clinical Support Services in developing strategy and provide dynamic and effective management of the bereavement team. You will carry a caseload alongside your managerial responsibilities.

You will be a qualified Social Worker with significant people management skills and experience. A recognised Diploma in Counselling and BACP accreditation would be an advantage. Applicants should have relevant experience of working in a health, social care, or hospice setting.
