Social Worker – Family Support & Safeguarding (Part-time)
Our Family Support Team is expanding and seeking to recruit a suitably qualified social worker to the team.
Key responsibilities:
As part of the hospice’s multi-disciplinary team you will help us to develop this vital role to provide a comprehensive social work service to families in complex situations.
The role will involve providing advocacy, supporting and sign posting families for welfare benefits and community resources, offering support and training around safeguarding issues and as part of the Family Support team you will be involved in meeting the needs of bereaved families.
You will liaise and participate in external multi- disciplinary meetings of the children we care for and develop strong links with statutory agencies and schools.
You will be a qualified social worker with three years post qualifying experience in Children & Family services with current registration with the HCPC. Experience of working with children who have complex disabilities is desirable. Knowledge and understanding of the impact of a life-limiting condition on the child and family essential.
You need to be an excellent communicator who is adaptable, self-motivated and compassionate and able to work independently and as part of the team. Working hours may vary and you will be required to work in-house and in the community so flexibility is important and you will need a full- driving licence.
It is envisaged that the role will be a minimum of 22.5 hours and this will be discussed and agreed prior to the appointment.
Salary:
To £23,000 for 22.5 hrs
