St Joseph’s Hospice is one of the UK’s largest hospices and is based in the East end of London serving a culturally diverse population with a higher than average demand on psycho-social interventions. We provide high quality specialist palliative care for patients with life limiting illness, including non-malignant diagnosis in a variety of settings including community, out-patient, day hospice and an in-patient unit.
This is an exciting time of change for psycho-social care at St Joseph’s Hospice and we are seeking an enthusiastic, confident and highly motivated person with a passion for palliative care to work in the social work team based at St Joseph’s Hospice. You will need to have some experience of working in social or health care.
You will need to have excellent communication skills, and a kind and compassionate outlook with an ability to work flexibly across the team. We offer you the opportunity to develop your skills through working with individuals and families facing advanced disease, death and bereavement both in the hospice and the local community. You will be working alongside social workers and the welfare benefits advisor, and supporting volunteers in our team, and will be provided with excellent support, supervision and learning opportunities.
