We are one of the UK’s largest hospices providing a range of specialist palliative care for people living with or affected by life-limiting illnesses.

Staff Nurses
Hospice Band 5 post £21,384 – £27,673 per annum pro rata + Shift Premiums
Full / Part time (min 22.5 hrs per week)
Location: Heald Green

Our busy inpatient unit with 27 beds provides patients with specialist end of life care including symptom management.

Working as part of the wider multidisciplinary team you will support patients with complex clinical needs and provide hands-on person-centred care looking beyond the patient’s condition. You will:

Be a confident communicator with the ability to articulate your views and discuss patients’ needs with the multidisciplinary team.

Have excellent planning skills with the ability to respond to changing priorities.

Be able to reflect on your clinical practice and implement improvements to support patients and their families.

Ideally have experience of working in palliative care. However, applications from newly qualified Registered Nurses or those from other specialisms will be considered.

Ideally be competent to administer IV medications, blood transfusions, enteral feeding and non-invasive ventilation, but support and development is available.

Our Practice Development Centre supports our continuous learning environment, including supporting staff development. There is also opportunity to mentor our student nurses and to become a link nurse.

The role will be challenging and rewarding giving you the opportunity to develop your nursing skills and knowledge in palliative care.
