State of Caring Survey 2015

Categories: Care.

The survey aims to identify how caring for ill, frail or disabled relatives affects finances, health and a person’s ability to live their own life.

Last year over 5,000 carers completed the survey, and Carers UK used these responses to track changes over time, gather evidence on the impact of caring and campaign for a better deal for carers.

In the past, Carers UK have used evidence from the survey to:

  • shape its Carers Manifesto in preparation for the General Election in May 2015
  • campaign for changes to welfare benefits and to Carer’s Allowance
  • highlight the enormous pressure on carers when loved ones are discharged from hospital without the right care and support in place
  • show that loneliness and isolation is not just about being “alone” – a lack of general understanding about caring, low incomes and a lack of support all contribute to this for carers.

The survey closes on 15 April 2015 and can be completed online. It should take between 20 and 30 minutes to complete.

Copies of the survey can also be downloaded and printed and returned by post. Visit the Carers UK website for more details.
