Helen & Douglas House has the time and expertise to care for children and young adults with life-shortening conditions and support their families. The two hospice houses offer specialist symptom and pain management, medically-supported short breaks and end-of-life care, as well as counselling and practical support for the whole family

It costs over £5 million a year to run the two hospice houses. We are dependent on voluntary contributions for over 80% of this.

We are currently looking for a Commercial Representative to join our trustee board who can help direct Helen & Douglas House. You would need to make a commitment to Helen & Douglas House; have strategic vision, independent judgment, and a willingness to speak your mind.

The specific role that we are looking to fill is a Trustee Commercial Representative. Your role would include offering advice, assistance and support to the Director of Retail and New Business in the further development of the organisation’s retail businesses as well as promoting a business centred approach to service development.

This very fulfilling role is unpaid and a time commitment of at least six days a year plus the requirement to attend other ad hoc meetings and events. Board Meetings currently take place bi-monthly. Training and support will be provided.
