We are one of the UK’s largest hospices providing a range of specialist palliative care for people living with or affected by life-limiting illnesses. As a charity, our services are available free of charge to people over the age of 16 from across the Greater Manchester area. Our annual running costs are over £9 million per year, approximately two-thirds of which needs to be raised from voluntary contributions.
Do you enjoy working with people? Are you a confident outgoing person who has the desire to work with patients who have a life limiting illness.
If so this is an exciting opportunity for a professional, personable, outgoing individual, who has a working understanding of confidentiality. The Ward Clerk role is essential for the smooth running of a busy 18 bed inpatient unit. You will be responsible for a number of administration tasks, ensuring the ward offices are kept fully stocked with stationery. You will also take responsibility for the ordering and stock control of all clinical and non-clinical equipment. You will be expected to carry the ward phones on a daily basis, and to liaise with other departments within the organisation.
Training will be offered to the successful applicants relevant to the role, for example communication skills for clerical staff. The role of ward clerk involves interaction with patients relatives and carers.
Informal visits welcomed. Please contact Sister Sarah McDonnell (Ward Manager) 0161 702 8181 for further information.
