The Alliance, of which Help the Hospices is a member, was set up in July 2009 to campaign to keep adult care funding and reform on the political agenda.
The Alliance is launching this new awareness campaign today (18 October) to coincide with the passage of the Care Bill through the House of Lords and House of Commons, to raise awareness of the importance of social care in enabling people to live independently. It is concerned that under the government’s current plans, hundreds of thousands of older people, disabled people, carers, and those with long-term conditions, could be denied any care at all.
The Alliance is asking people who receive social care to share what they can do in their life because of social care – anything from getting out of bed to going the work and seeing friends – on Twitter and Facebook using the hastag #WhatDoYouDoWithYours
