This year’s survey focuses on how caring affects carers’ finances, health and ability to live their own life.
Each year, Carers UK uses the data gathered from this survey to help build up a picture of cares experience which it uses in its work with the UK Government, the governments in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland and to local decision makers.
Evidence from last year fed into the charity’s State of Caring report into carers’ health, finances and ability to work and its Caring & Family Finance Inquiry, as well as many other research reports and responses to government. You can find examples of its research work in the resources section of Carers UK website.
Next year Carers UK will be marking 50 years since its creation, so it is especially keen to be able to paint a picture of the experiences of carers today. Next year there will also be a general election and political parties are writing their manifestos setting out what they committed to do if they are elected. Carers UK will also use evidence from this survey to make sure carers are included in these plans.
The online survey is shorter than in previous years – it should take between 15 and 30 minutes to complete.
