  • “Please continue to provide this wonderful course to produce more knowledgeable and confident bereavement support workers.”

This course aims to enable professionals and volunteers to develop a range of practical techniques to work effectively with bereaved children and young people, according to each bereaved person’s individual needs.

The course is delivered in a variety of methods – group work, facilitated workshops and presentations and will run over six, two-day units between November 2013 and July 2014 in Buckinghamshire at Child Bereavement UK’s training headquarters.

This is a highly interactive course where students stand to gain a great deal from their shared experiences and ambitions.

The course leaders are Ann Chalmers, CBUK Chief Executive, and Dr Ann Rowland, CBUK Director of Bereavement Services, both are extremely experienced facilitators and specialists in child bereavement. Visiting speakers will enhance the experience for the students. There will be some practice-based learning integral to the course.

Interviews will take place in September and October 2013.
