An effective relationship between a program’s Chief Executive Officer and Chief Medical Officer is an essential component of a successful organizational strategy. Whether you have “chief” in your title or not, every hospice program has a physician and executive leader. This new program is designed by national hospice leaders to assist individuals in developing and strengthen this key relationship.
The American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine and National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization are collaborating to bring strategies and tools to take your leadership skills to the next level. This program is offered as part of the AAHPM Summer Institute in Chicago, IL.
Objectives:
- Describe why the CEO-CMO relationship is so vital and critical to a highly functioning hospice.
- Recognize why hospice has to change.
- Identify three strategies for providing effective leadership within the “white water rapids” of the current hospice environment.
- Describe why Disruptive Innovations and Sustaining Innovations are important to the future sustainability of any organization.
Continuing education will be available for physicians, social workers, and nurses.
