Nathan Adelson Hospice, the leader in hospice and palliative care in southern Nevada, will host its 22nd Annual Multicultural Conference and Luncheon on Saturday, March 7 at Palace Station. This year’s theme is titled “Compassion Without Boundaries; Equity Across the Continuum of Care,” and will explore how cultural awareness, empathy and equitable access to care can improve patient and family experiences throughout the healthcare journey.
Every year, Nathan Adelson Hospice provides this forum to unite and educate people from various cultures, beliefs and perspectives on end-of-life care tailored to current trends in the hospice and palliative care industry.
This year’s keynote speaker is Dr. Luther “Lu” Brewster (lead photo), a nationally recognized leader in community health innovation. Dr. Brewster has spent more than two decades designing solutions that address the social and structural drivers of health in underserved populations. His career spans influential roles in policy, academia, and the private sector, where he has championed grassroots voices, advanced health equity initiatives and developed tools that improve outcomes for high‑risk communities from Harlem to London to Miami and now Las Vegas.
His work aligns powerfully with this year’s theme as he has long emphasized how cultural awareness, empathy, and equitable access shape the patient and family experience.
“When we honor culture, listen with empathy, and remove barriers to care, we transform the healthcare journey for patients and families,” said Dr. Brewster. “I’m honored to join Nathan Adelson Hospice for an event that recognizes compassion without boundaries as essential to true equity.”
As Senior Executive Dean for Community Health Innovation at Roseman University College of Medicine and Partner at Wellup Technologies, Dr. Brewster leads transformative work that places culture, dignity, and lived experience at the center of care. His initiatives including household‑centered care models, art‑health collaborations and a statewide cardiovascular campaign reflect his belief that innovation is not a buzzword but a blueprint for lasting change. His keynote address will bring a powerful perspective on how communities, institutions, and professionals across sectors can work together to build a more equitable healthcare future.

Morning sessions will begin at 9 a.m. and the luncheon will run 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m.
