Categories: Education.

ehospice readers are invited to read the latest issue of NHPCO’s quarterly NewsLine (Fall 2017).  In the lead article, Dr. Kimberly Acquaviva shares the introduction to her new book, “LGBTQ-Inclusive Hospice and Palliative Care” and explains how a paradigm shift is needed that begins with an active choice – a choice to change practice so that all are welcome and treated with dignity and compassion.

Additional articles include:

  • “Spiritual Care Services to Hospice Patients & Their Families” – Tom McQueen, MDiv, writes about the vocation of hospice chaplains, an enriching and rewarding ministry to all those they care for.
  • “Fundraising Mantras to Remember” – November in National Philanthropy Month and Sarah Meltzer, MPA, CFRE, offers some tips from the field that will help providers succeed with giving campaigns.
  • “Professional Development Needs in 2018” – NHPCO staff provide a look at some of the professional development opportunities available from NHPCO in the year ahead.
  • “Council of States Spotlight” – Learn more about this important part of our nation’s hospice and palliative care community.

Information on the new exhibit, “Hospice: A Historical Perspective,” a review of new outreach materials, a recap of the summer’s Advocacy Intensive, member news, and much more is included in the quarterly NewsLine.
