Golden Butterflies Children’s Palliative Care Foundation (GB) celebrated its 3rd anniversary of service on November 14th, 2021 at WelcomHotel, Chennai, India.
Special guests for the occasion were: Prof. Dr. S. Elilarasi (Director & Professor, Institute of Child Health & Hospital for Children, Egmore), Mr. S. Santhanakrishnan (Founder & Managing Partner, PKF Sridhar & Santhanam, GB’s Patron and sponsor for the function), Dr. Rejiv Rajendranath (Medical Oncologist, Integrated Cancer Care Group & GB’s Medical Advisor), and Mr. Babu (Founder & Chairman, Original Kerala Jewellers).
At the event, we launched “GB’s Fun with Art – a Handbook of Art, Craft, & Recreational Activities” intended to help professional and informal caregivers of child-patients, commissioned by the Narotam Sekhsaria Foundation.
Several stalwarts from the palliative care community joined us online to share their good wishes: Ms. Joan Marston (Global Ambassador, International Childhood Palliative Care Network), Dr. M. R. Rajagopal (Chairman, Pallium India), Ms. Poonam Bagai (Founder & Chairperson, CanKids), Dr. Gayatri Palat (Professor, Pain & Palliative Medicine, MNJ Institute of Oncology, Hyderabad), and Dr. Mary Ann Muckaden (Professor, Palliative Medicine, Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai).
We used this opportunity to felicitate six of our volunteers (WINGS) and interns with “Golden Awards” for their exceptional contributions to GB since inception.
