The World Congress, which is taking place between 6 and 11 October 2014 in Buenos Aires, will be attended by more than 6,000 pain specialists from all over the world.
The Congress program will include plenary sessions, topical workshops, refresher courses and poster sessions covering every aspect of acute and chronic pain from basic science to clinical practice. Several of the Congress exhibitors will host lunchtime and evening talks during the official Congress dates. Additionally, a number of special events and tours are also planned, and there will be plenty of opportunities for networking.
The deadline for poster abstract submissions is 7 March 2014. Further details on how to submit are available on the IASP website.
The deadline to apply for financial aid to attend the Congress is also 7 March 2014.
Only IASP members from developing countries, countries with currency exchange restrictions, or trainees in developed countries will be considered for a financial aid award. The the following criteria will be used in judging eligibility for financial aid:
- enrolment in a full-time degree program or in full-time study in the area of pain and/or employment status and location
- presentation at a national or international scientific meeting
- applicant’s self-selected ‘best’ publication
- involvement in research, lab experience, or hospital or university teaching.
