AAHPM & HPNA Annual Assembly 2015 – scholarships for physicians in developing countries

Categories: Education.

The Assembly is taking place in Philadelphia on 25 to 28 February 2015.

The annual three-day event brings together nearly 3,000 physicians, nurses and other healthcare providers to share research, clinical best practices and practice-related guidance to advance the specialty and improve patient care.

AAHPM’s scholarship program provides financial support (up to $5,000) to physicians who reside in developing countries (as defined by the World Bank) to attend the Annual Assembly. This scholarship program is intended to cover ordinary costs associated with meeting registration, travel-related expenses (airfare, cab fare, meals) and lodging.

Scholarship recipients will be asked to participate in a discussion forum during the Annual Assembly to share the practice of hospice and palliative medicine in their country and will also be required to submit a written report describing how their attendance at the Annual Assembly benefited their work.

The deadline to apply for a scholarship is 2 September 2014. Further information is available on the AAHPM website.

Look out for further information on the Assembly and registration details on the AAHPM website.
