International bereavement conference to be held in Hong Kong

Categories: Research.

From 10 to 14 June 2014, experts in palliative care and from a range of death-related disciplines will gather in Hong Kong to exchange ideas and research on issues of loss, trauma and mortality.

The theme of the conference will be: ‘East Meets West: Expanding Frontiers and Diversity’, echoing the fact that this is the first time the tri-annual event has been held in Asia.

There will be keynote sessions and plenaries from international leaders in research and practice and a scientific programme delivered by leading scholars and healthcare professionals in end of life care and bereavement studies.

Field visits will also be organised to foster exchanges with local experts in organisations specialising in the areas of death, dying and bereavement and there will be an innovative social programme involving qigong, a tea ceremony and laughter therapy.

The 10th International Conference on Grief and Bereavement in Contemporary Societies is taking place in Hong Kong between 10 and 14 June 2014.

Registration is now open, with an ‘early bird’ discount available for bookings before 31 January.
