2025 Chelsea Flower Show Garden finds its forever home at Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice in Barnet

Categories: Care and Community Engagement.

London, 4th June 2025 – Joshua Fenton’s C6 Garden has been formally opened at Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice in Barnet. The garden formed part of the Container Gardens section of the 2025 RHS Chelsea Flower Show and was awarded the coveted Silver-Gilt Medal. The garden will offer a calm sanctuary for the children and families that Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice support and also for staff to enjoy throughout the working day.

The C6 Container Garden is all about carbon sequestration, water recycling and being wildlife friendly whilst creating a calming sophisticated space.

The garden promotes three ways to sequester carbon, the first is the use of bio char, which not only improves the soil but takes carbon out of the carbon cycle for up to 1000 years.

The second is the use of charred oak as the material used to make planters – this locks a further 500kg co2 up for the lifespan of the planter. Finally, the planting – choosing fast growing trees and herbaceous perennials has the potential to harvest the new growth and convert it into bio char, taking it out of the carbon cycle.

Clive Washbourn, CEO of Navium said: ‘We’re incredibly proud that the C6 garden, which was so thoughtfully designed by Joshua Fenton for the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, will now find its permanent home at Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice.
