Heart of Kent Hospice is pleased to announce that its Borough Green charity shop will be hosting monthly sales in the community village hall; providing the perfect opportunity to come along and grab a bargain as most items will be for sale at just £1.
Gill Bellworthy who has been managing the Borough Green Shop for the past three years said: “After a successful trial event in January we have decided to expand our village hall sales to offer one every month (apart from August) with the next one scheduled for Thursday 27 February 2025 between 2 and 4pm.
All the sales are free to enter and will include clothes, shoes, bags, homeware, toys and seasonal items. We chose to hold the sales between 2pm and 4pm as we found it was perfect timing for people to pop in before or after the school run. Our village hall sales are also a great way for us to sell some of our surplus stock and create space for new products within our charity shop.”
The dates for all our sales this year are: 27 February, 27 March, 24 April, 22 May, 26 June, 17 July, 25 September, 30 October, 27 November, 11 December 2025.
Each sale takes place at the Borough Green Village Hall, High Street, Sevenoaks, TN15 8BT. The hall has a large car park and parking is free for the first hour. Charges apply for longer periods.
Heart of Kent Hospice is reliant on local communities donating their good quality items and to keep buying from our shops. The Hospice has 14 charity shops in towns and villages across mid-Kent from Headcorn, Staplehurst and West Malling, to Maidstone, Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells. All the charity shops sell a range of pre-loved items from clothing and accessories and some also offer electrical items, furniture and homeware.

Heart of Kent Hospice must raise £6.6 million every year to provide its free services to people living with a life limiting, terminal illness. Care is offered at home or in the hospice inpatient unit. The hospice also offers free drop-in hub sessions which has made it easier to access patient care for illnesses such as dementia.

About Heart of Kent Hospice
Heart of Kent Hospice has been providing free, compassionate, end-of-life care to people living with a terminal illness and their loved ones in Maidstone, Aylesford, Tonbridge and Malling and the surrounding towns and villages for the past 34 years.
The Hospice has built an excellent reputation within the local community for the quality of its care, which has been further endorsed by the Care Quality Commission who awarded us with an overall rating of ‘Outstanding’ following an inspection in February 2017.
Our vision is for everyone living with a terminal illness in our community to achieve the best quality of life. We are committed to achieving this by enabling them to live in comfort, with independence and dignity to the end of their lives, and to support those closest to them.
Last year the Hospice cared for over 2,000 patients and their families in their own homes or at our Aylesford-based Hospice. Our charity needs to raise £6.6 million to deliver all the Hospices services, and we depend heavily on our loyal community of supporters, whose generous donations and fundraising activities raise money for us every year.
