Come and join the hospice team making today matter for patients and families across Ayrshire. We currently have a vacancy for a Communications and Research Officer within our busy Communications Department.
Ayrshire Hospice provides quality specialist palliative care for adults with life-limiting illness within Ayrshire and Arran. We provide a wide range of services and care in people’s homes, care homes and hospitals, as well as in the hospice itself. This is provided at no cost to our patients or their families. Our vision is to reach and improve the lives of everyone in Ayrshire affected by life-limiting illness.
As Communications and Research Officer, you will be responsible for supporting and implementing an effective communications strategy for a capital fundraising campaign, raising the hospice profile and public awareness of activities through liaison with media outlets, advertising and promotional campaigns, public engagement events, active use of the hospice website and engagement with social media tools. You will help to stage a formal public launch for the public appeal phase of the campaign, raising wider awareness of the capital campaign and the key benefits and importance of the new hospice facilities.
Responsibilities include fundraising communications, design and production of marketing materials, community and donor relations, website maintenance and development, social media campaigns, internal communications, media relations and event management.
You will hold a degree level qualification or equivalent in a relevant discipline such as communication, marketing, media, journalism or public relations. In particular, you will have established graphic design and digital communications skills.
This is a fixed term post for three years, working with the Head of Communications to provide dedicated communications support, advice and expertise for the capital fundraising campaign which aims to raise vital new funds to help build new hospice facilities for the future.
