Come and join the hospice team making today matter for patients and families across Ayrshire. We currently have a vacancy for a Communications and Research Officer within our busy Communications Department.

Ayrshire Hospice provides quality specialist palliative care for adults with life-limiting illnesses within Ayrshire and Arran. We provide a wide range of services and care in people’s homes, care homes and hospitals, as well as in the hospice itself. This is provided at no cost to our patients or their families.  Our vision is to reach and improve the lives of everyone in Ayrshire affected by life-limiting illness.

As Communications and Research Officer, you will be responsible for assisting with the delivery of effective communications in line with our hospice communications strategy. This will ensure excellent integrated communications with patients and families, donors and supporters, employed and voluntary staff, other partner organisations, the general public and the media, and will support the vision, aims and objectives of the hospice. 

Responsibilities include design and production of marketing materials, website maintenance and development, social media campaigns, internal communications, media relations, event management, fundraising communications and community and donor relations. You will also offer dedicated research support to Fundraising Managers.

You will hold a degree level qualification or equivalent in a relevant discipline such as communication, marketing, media, journalism or public relations. In particular, you will have established graphic design and digital communications skills.

This is a permanent post, directly supporting the Head of Communications to provide communications advice and expertise to all levels of employed and voluntary staff across the hospice as well as external audiences.
