Hours: 20 hours per week
Salary: £31,369 pro rata for 20 hours equating to £16,730
Contract type: Temporary for 2 years with a view to obtaining funding to sustain the post in the future

About us: East Lancashire Hospice is a progressive organisation with an exciting five year strategy that includes community engagement, expanding education provision, collaborative working and service development.
About this role: We are looking for an enthusiastic, proactive professional to develop, deliver and evaluate teaching sessions on end of life care for Health and Social Care staff based in the hospice and across the communities we serve. This includes delivery of the Six steps to Success programme to care homes and domiciliary providers which involves conducting audit of end of life care practice and providing support to improve the quality of the end of life care.
What we want:
- An enthusiastic, professional Registered Nurse who is committed to developing the knowledge skills and confidence of others to equip them to deliver high quality end of life care
- An individual skilled in identifying training needs and developing, delivering and evaluating education sessions and support to deliver improvements in care
- Someone with a detailed understanding of key national and local initiatives in palliative and end of life care
- Someone with a good working knowledge of all Microsoft office applications including access, word and PowerPoint
- An individual with the ability to communicate effectively in order to deliver key messages in a succinct and engaging manner
- An individual with experience managing projects and a proven track record of delivering objectives to the required standard to the agreed deadlines
Contributions to NHS pension scheme can continue in this post. A car driver is essential and mileage will be paid for community based work.
