Master class: Public health approaches in end of life care – investigating their impact

Help the Hospices is hosting a series of master classes to:

• showcase examples of innovative practice in – or of relevance to – hospice care
• enable small groups of peers to work together to share their experiences and generate new ideas.

The first of our master classes is held in partnership with St Joseph’s Hospice. Because of generous support by the Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm, there is no charge to attend.

Aims of the event

This will be a highly interactive event which draws together individuals who are interested to explore the challenging question of how to evaluate public health approaches which focus on improving the experience of people who are dying or face loss.

While there is growing interest in these approaches in the UK and beyond, and a strong belief that they could be valuable as an intervention, there is little evidence to support this and limited understanding about how best to build an evidence base in the future.
