Heart of Kent Hospice’s annual charity ‘Moonlit Walk’ brings family and friends together for a fun, unique and truly unforgettable experience.
The ‘Moonlit Walk’ will take walkers on an 8-mile circular walk which features a magical walk through a lantern lit field.
Everyone who signs up will receive a special edition Moonlit Walk 2022 t-shirt and after completing the walk a special edition Moonlit Walk 2022 medal!
This event is one of Heart of Kent Hospice’s most loved and celebrated events and this year will take place on Saturday 1 October. This year feels even more special as the event has been unable to take place in person for the last two years.
Once you have signed up, you’ll also be able to purchase glow merchandise such as glow sticks, bunny ears and flashing wands to really light up your walk!
Every year many of the walkers come in fancy dress and this year will be no exception. Prizes will be awarded for the best dressed on the night, and there will also be prizes for the individual and team that raise the most through sponsorship.
From 6:00pm everyone can enjoy the pre-event entertainment and activities at the Hospice including music, face painting, and take part in some fun warm-up exercises to get everyone limbered up and ready to go when the walk starts at 7:00pm. The circular route will pass through Aylesford, Larkfield and Leybourne before stopping at the refreshment station in West Malling.
There will be trained marshals along the route and there is no rush to complete the walk, which will take between two to three hours. On the return route to the Hospice, there is a magical walk through a lantern lit field, to celebrate everyone’s Moonlit achievement.
All ages are welcome to take part, whether you have a link with the Hospice or not. There will also be an opportunity to leave a message of remembrance for loved ones at the Hospice memory wall, or online on our virtual wall.
Dogs are allowed to come too, but they must be kept on their lead.
There will be a friendly welcome at the West Malling refreshment station which will be serving cakes and cold drinks. Hot drinks and cakes will also be available to celebrate your return to Heart of Kent Hospice.

The route is accessible for buggies and wheelchairs but the final stretch back to the Hospice passes through a field which may have an uneven surface so we advise caution and lantern lights will be provided.
