Fundraisers to walk on hot coals for hospice challenge

Categories: Community Engagement.

Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice in Farnham is hosting the Firewalk, which will see people dart over a 20 foot long lane of hot embers that will reach a temperature of over 300 °C.

This will be the hospice’s second Firewalk event to raise funds for the day-to-day running of its operations. Fiona Chapman, Events Fundraiser at the hospice said:

“The Firewalk was a great success last year, and we are very excited about being able to hold it again this year. It really pushes participants to their limits, helping them find their inner strength and self-belief. We encourage anyone who is considering taking on this challenge to believe in yourself and go for it!”

The event will be run by Time4Change (T4C), a training and events organisation that draws upon motivational psychology, neuro-linguistic programming and martial arts.  Before the walk, T4C instructor Cliff Mann will give participants a training session to ensure their walk is safe.  Mann has been named the most experienced Firewalk instructor in the UK and Europe.

The Firewalk will take place on November 5. To register and for more information visit Hot Foot it for Hospice Care
