Head of Department – Palliative Care Education, Research and Practice Development
37.5 hours per week
Salary Scale: £39,632- £47,559 per annum + Pension
We are looking for a passionate, visionary and experienced palliative care professional to take a lead role in developing programmes of Learning, Research and Practice Development within Strathcarron Hospice and also in an outreach capacity.
Working with the Senior Management Team and reporting to the Director of Nursing, you will be responsible for:
1. Driving forward the provision of contemporary learning opportunities for palliative care knowledge and skills in and beyond Strathcarron Hospice
2. Progressing the Research Active status of Strathcarron Hospice
3. Using the departmental resource to develop practice and improve the quality of palliative / end of life care.
You will actively contribute to both local and national strategy for the development of palliative / end of life care, education and research and partner with a wide range of professionals / organisations to order to achieve these objectives.
You’ll be a Registered Health Care Practitioner with significant experience in palliative care and able to work effectively in an educational set. A creative and innovative leader and manager, you will also have a Masters degree/Doctorate in a relevant area of study and a strong research portfolio in a health/palliative care context.
