Help the Hospices raises a glass to new fundraising partner

The national hospice charity announced the new initiative during Hospice Care Week 2013 and said that volunteering and fundraising will be the focus of the partnership.

AB InBev UK  will match every pound employees raise through fundraising activities and its 1,000 employees will be given the opportunity to help out at their local hospice.

Each site across the country has been matched with a local hospice and it is hoped that the collaboration will allow closer links to be forged between employees and their communities.

The initiative is launching with a ‘Chalice for Change’ fundraising challenge.

A giant Stella Artois chalice will be sent to every AB InBev UK site to be filled with collections from employees for their local hospice.

Inge Plochaet, AB InBev president for the UK and Ireland, said she is delighted to be launching the new partnership:

“It will give us all the opportunity to give back to the communities in which we live and work. I am confident we can deliver some fantastic results for this extremely worthwhile cause.”

David Praill, Chief Executive of Help the Hospices, added:

“Help the Hospices is immensely grateful to AB InBev, a leading global company, for choosing us as their charity partner and we hope it is the start of a fruitful and exciting partnership.

“Fundraising and volunteering makes a direct impact to patients suffering from terminal and life-limiting illness and their families. It can be the difference between a compassionate, dignified death and one without tailored care and support.”
