Blythe House is the only Day Hospice in North Derbyshire providing specialist palliative care for adults with life threatening illnesses and their families across our local community.

This post will be based at Blythe House Hospice, Eccles Fold, Chapel-en-le-Frith, High Peak SK23 9TJ.

Salary: AfC Band 8(C)

NHS Pension Scheme (dependent on current situation) or Stakeholder Pension Scheme.

Blythe House Hospice provides a range of specialist palliative care services from diagnosis to end of life care. Our innovative Living Well Services are structured on a survivorship model and we are committed to promoting excellence in clinical practice.

You will be accountable to the Trustees for all aspects of management, organisation, business planning and strategy. This will incorporate ensuring the highest standards of client care are maintained and that the organisation is financially sound. You will lead a small management team, work closely with external key providers and stakeholders, including CCGs and hold the position of Registered Manager and Responsible Individual with the Care Quality Commission.

A nursing graduate, you will have senior management experience across various multi-faceted departments. You will be creative and energetic with the ability to manage change. An open and inclusive management style and the ability to listen, value and involve the team are essential as is the vision to develop the organisation. You will have excellent communication skills including the ability to work effectively with the media. Skills, knowledge and experience in the health and social care sector with an emphasis on survivorship, palliative and end of life care.

Our annual running costs are around £675,000 per year, of which £500,000 needs to be raised from voluntary contributions. The Hospice also has a separate Trading Company operating 4 retail shops contributing significant income.
