Michelle Kabia has been appointed as the Chief Executive of Farleigh Hospice

Categories: Leadership and People & Places.

Michelle has been the Interim Chief Executive of Farleigh since March of this year after our Chief Executive, Sarah Green, began a period of unpaid leave with the intention of returning early in 2026.

Sarah has since made the difficult decision to step down from this role in order to spend more time at home.

Our Board of Trustees and Executive Team are incredibly grateful to Sarah for her leadership, dedication, and the positive impact she has made during her time as Chief Executive. Everyone at Farleigh Hospice wishes her all the very best for the future.

Michelle took over the Chief Executive role permanently from Monday 11 August, bringing extensive leadership experience and a deep commitment to our mission and values.

Over the past five months, she has led the ‘Have Your Say’ consultation, built strong relationships across the organisation and with partners, and made significant progress in shaping our 2026–2029 strategy.

We are delighted that she will be continuing in this role on a permanent basis.

In response to her appointment, Michelle said: “I am absolutely delighted to be taking on the role of Chief Executive permanently. It is a privilege to lead such a dedicated team and to be part of an organisation that means so much to our community. I look forward to continuing to support Farleigh Hospice in delivering exceptional, compassionate services that are responsive to local needs and meet the ever-increasing demands on hospice care.”
